Imam Khomeini Port (B.I.K Port) is the most northeast port in Persian Gulf and is situated in upper part of Khor Musa creek (Longitude 49-04E / Latitude 30-25N). B.I.K Port is located in the north of the natural Khor Musa waterway, 165 kilometers from the province. With 42 nautical miles in length and 250 meters width and the average depth of 20 meters, this waterway provides a soft and smooth bed for sailing of various commercial ocean liners and oil tankers from Imam Khomeini Port to different parts of the world. The port is connected to Tehran and to other cities of the country by road, air and rail road. It is the southern terminus of the Trans-Iranian Railway, which runs to the Caspian Sea. The BIK port is a transshipment point for containers, bulk and general cargo, with exclusive access to the facilities. The Port has seven terminals with 40 berths of about 6,500 meters frontage.

PORT DESCRIPTION

The port of Bandar Imam Khomeini is sheltered within the Khor Musa approximately 45km from its entrance. Bandar Imam Khomeini is Iran’s largest port and handles a variety of cargo including general cargo, bulk cargo, grain, bagged sugar, and rice.
